Be disciplined.
"Diligent hands will rule..." - Proverbs 12:24a
The immediate step of reducing your debt load, managing your cash, and prioritizing your investments will require serious discipline. It is not for the faint of heart. The world tells you: you can have it all, you deserve a break today, just do it. In reality this is a day of sobriety of mind, focus in spirit and disciplined living. We hope that you will take the necessary move toward hope. It will mean a new you, but that may mean a better you. Where to go from here:
- Define the #1 issue for you. Is it the loss of a job, loss of income, sliding 401K, faltering marriage, slumping faith? Point at your #1 issue and call it by name.
- Seek help in that particular area. Formally or informally, go to someone who is winning in that area and say, "I need you to coach me, mentor me, pray for me in this area." If your marriage is faltering, for example, go to someone with a strong marriage and confide in them.
- Walk away with one or two things you are going to do differently for 21 days. It takes 21 days to develop a habit or break a habit. If you are suffering from a loss of income and you have too much month left at the end of the pay check, reduce your expenses down until your are in the black. For 21 days to month, live in the black and watch hope be reborn in you.
